Are the needles sterile?
Yes, the needles are sterile, single use, and disposable.
Will I feel anything during a treatment?
Patients may experience a tingling or achy sensation during a treatment. The sensation
may move along the energetic pathway. It is possible to feel a sensation in another part
of the body even though the needle was inserted in a different location.
How big are the needles?
The needles are solid and hair thin. They are inserted at different depths depending on
the patient's body type and the location of the acupuncture point.
Why would someone decide to get an acupuncture treatment?
You don't have to have a condition to get an acupuncture treatment. Many people use
acupuncture to maintain wellness, coming in monthly or seasonally to maintain balance.
The World Health Organization has recognized acupuncture's ability to address issues such
as headaches, migraines, insomnia, low back, neck and shoulder pain, chronic diarrhea,
constipation, irregular, heavy or painful menstruation, PMS, infertility in women and men,
UTI, sexual dysfunction, stress incontinence, allergies, addictions and more.
How many treatments are necessary?
The number of treatments varies depending on the condition. In general, an acute
condition will respond more quickly than a chronic condition.
Will my insurance cover an acupuncture treatment?
It depends on your plan. Some health insurance plans cover acupuncture treatments for pain. I recommend you contact your plan to determine coverage. I will provide diagnostic codes for you to submit to your insurance plan for possible reimbursement.
