Acupuncture

Moxibustion involves the heating of acupuncture points with the mugwort herb (known as moxa).  It stimulates circulation, counteracts cold and dampness in the body and promotes the smooth flow of blood and qi.  This safe and non-invasive technique may be used alone, but it is generally used in conjunction with acupuncture.
Willow Tree Wellness Services
Acupuncture helps to restore the smooth flow of qi or 'energy'; when qi flows smoothly, we feel better. During an acupuncture treatment patients may feel an achy pressure, or a tingling sensation at the site of treatment.  My intention is to put you at ease during your acupuncture treatment.  The first appointment is a history and physical and follow-up appointments are designed to address your wellness needs.

Cupping is a technique that uses a special cup applied to the skin and held in place by suction.  Cupping helps improve circulation and alleviate stagnation, which may present as pain or a sensation of tightness in the body.  Cupping can leave temporary marks on the body that may look like round, purple bruises.  Cupping was used on some of the 2016 US Olympic swim team members.  Some swimmers exhibited the typical purple, round marks from the cupping.

         Auricular Acupuncture

Auricular Acupuncture is performed on the ear.  Points on the ear correspond to areas of the entire body.  I will be using points from the NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) protocol.  This treatement is safe and standardized and has been in use since the 1970's.
